Keeping the arts alive in Portland, the Keller Auditorium is a 2,992 seat performing arts center located in downtown Portland, Oregon, an integral component of Portland's Center for the Arts, and a valuable contribution to the culture of the community. Opened in 1917, its debut performance constituted what became known as the first annual "Portland Music festival" featuring the Portland Symphony Orchestra, in a time honored tradition spanning the decades. Since then, the Auditorium has hosted the Portland Opera and the Oregon Ballet theater and provided a home to the Portland Symphony Orchestra from 1917 to 1984, but the don't let its prestigious reputation fool you. The Keller Auditorium puts no restrictions on its volume. On December 20, 1968, the Keller gladly welcomed the ear splitting sounds of Robert Plant and Led Zeppelin without reservation. With a resume like that, the Keller Auditorium is a venue worth honoring with a visit.
