When it became obvious that Anderson Arena was no longer relevant, the Stroh Center was opened as the new home for the Bowling Green men's and women's Falcons basketball team on the campus of Bowling Green State University. Opened in September 2011, the arena was built to host music concerts, sporting events, and the university's commencement ceremonies, with a 4,387 person capacity for basketball and volleyball, and a 5,209 person capacity for concerts and convocation events. Since its opening, the Stroh center has held notable volleyball and basketball matches, a concert by Christian rock band Sanctus Real, and a speech from former President Barack Obama during his re- election campaign. The Stroh has also held concerts by various artist including the Florida Georgia line, Machine Gun Kelly, Kenny Rogers, and Chris Young.
