The Ohio Theatre is a performing arts center located in Columbus, OH. The Theatre first opened as a movie palace in 1928. During the late 1960’s, the theatre began hosting rock concerts by some of the biggest names in the business as an attempt to raise money for the theatre. The Columbus Symphony Orchestra needed a home and the theatre was the best candidate but it was falling into disrepair. The Columbus Associate for the Performing Arts took over the Theatre during that time and nursed it back to health. Today the Theatre is home to the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, Ballet Met, the Broadway Series, Opera Columbus and CAPA Summer Movie Series. The 3,096 capacity theatre is known for its luxurious interior.
