The Louis Armstrong Stadium is a US Open venue in the USTA Billie Jean King Tennis Center in Flushing, New York, named for the famous jazz musician who lived nearby, until his death in 1971. Although it was demolished in October 2016, a grand reopening is set for the 2018 US Open. The new and deluxe 14,000 seat stadium will feature a retractable roof, and terra cotta louvres to provide optimal comfort to its fans. However, tried and true tennis fans need not wait that long. A temporary 8,800 set stadium will be built to accommodate fans who can't afford to miss a game. Go visit for some great tennis, and be sure to get your tickets for the opening game in 2018.
