The 17,000 seat arena, which provides tenancy to the NHL's New Jersey Devils and Seton Hall's Pirates men's basketball team, opened its doors officially in 2007 to home boys, new Jersey natives and musical group Bon Jovi and a star studded opening lineup, including fellow Jersey boys My Chemical Romance and All American Rejects. Since then, the Center has been the sight for Nick Wallenda's Guinness Record documented tightrope walk and bicycle ride in 2008, the 2012 Stanley Cup Finals, the 2011 NBA draft and the 2012 broadcast final show of the Rolling Stones' 50th anniversary tour. In addition, as one of the newest NHL facilities, the Prudential center features a wide array of luxury amenities, including four LED ribbons and an eight sided scoreboard with high def video from Daktronic. The Center's 76 luxury suites are the largest in North America., complete with Wifi, personal dining and flat screen TVs. Commentators Deb Placey and Ken Daneydo can be found doing intermission and post game analyses for the Devils in the Center's terrace style Goal Bar and the Championship Plaza celebrates the Devils' thirty year history.
