Carnesecca Arena is a multi-purpose arena located on the campus of St. John’s University in Jamaica, Queens, NY. It opened in 1961 and has a capacity of 5,602 making it the fourth largest arena in the Metropolitan area. The arena serves as the exclusive home to the St. John’s University Red Strom women’s basketball team and also hosts the men’s team. The building features the Student-Athlete Center which provides a weight room, locker room and cardiovascular room for its athletes. This was built as part of a remodeling plan that took place in 2008.
