In the city of Rosemont, Illinois, adjacent to the city limits of Chicago and the O'Hare Internationals Airport, at the intersection of Mannheim Road and Interstate 90, lies the multipurpose 18,000 seat Allstate Arena. Opening in 1980 as Rosemont Horizon, the arena is home to the AHL's Chicago Wolves, the De Paul University men's basketball team and the WNBA's Chicago Sky, but it is perhaps the particularly rowdy fans for which the venue is best known. The Allstate Arena can add to its resume claim to some of the most passionate WWE fans, and the Allstate Arena was the first venue in the state of Illinois to host a UFC event to thousands of enthusiastic spectators. The venue also boasts an authentic "Chicago Style" racing track created specially for Monster Trucks to host its regularly scheduled fist pumping Monster Jams, to meet popular demand. However, despite its seeming unquenchable thirst for high adrenalin sports, the Allstate Arena has also played host to number of legendary musical acts. Fleetwood Mac was given the honor of performing at the ceremonial cutting of the red ribbon during the show's opening, and the arena also set the stage 1985 "Big City Nights" video by the Scorpions. No matter how your tastes range, the Allstate Arena has something to satisfy, unless your tastes run to nuts. The stadium is a strictly peanut free zone, sorry elephants.
