A true Broadway legend in and of itself, the Schubert Theater is a 1,460 capacity theater locate on West 44th St. in New York Cit which shares its beautiful Venetian facade with the adjoining Booth theater, connected by a private side road, fittingly dubbed, "Shubert Alley." Named for the oldest brother of the iconic Shubert family, the Schubert Theater has been setting a standard for Broadway productions since its opening in 1913 with "Hamlet," followed by the opening of George Bernard Shaw's "Caesar and Cleopatra." in the same year. It has since hosted a plethora of much beloved shows and musicals including its longest tenant, "A Chorus Line," which ran for 6,137 appearances between the years of 1975 and 1990 to set the record for the longest running show in Broadway history. The theater has also been a recurring location for the Tony Awards and has more than earned its designation as a New York City landmark and heart and soul of Broadway.
