Wrigley Field is a baseball park located on the North Side of Chicago, Illinois and has been the proud home of the Chicago Cubs since chewing gum magnate William Wrigley Junior acquired complete control of the team in 1921. Nicknamed the Friendly Confines by Hall of Fame shortstop and first baseman, Ernie Banks, Wrigley field is the oldest park in the National League, first opening as Weegham Park in 1914. As home of one of the most iconic teams in baseball, Wrigley Field has been the site of Babe Ruth's historical "called shot' in 1932, and Ernie Banks' 500th career home run in 1970. Pete Rose his his 4,191st career hit there, tying him with Ty Cobb for the most hits in baseball history. As if its legendary place in the sports world were not enough to recommend it, Wrigley field is also known for its unusual architecture, ivy colored outfield walls, rooftop seats, signature red marquee, hand-turned scoreboard and unusual wind patterns off Lake Michigan.
