The Templeton Blackburn Alumni Auditorium, known more succinctly as "Mem Aud" is a historical building used for performing arts, cultural events and major lectures. on the campus of Ohio University. When construction on the building was finished in 1928, the auditorium could accommodator 2,500 people with 12 dressing room and a large stage. The building gets its name from alumni John Templeton, an Ohio University graduate, and the first African American man to graduate from a United States College, and Martha Jane Hunley blackburn, the first black woman to graduate from the school. The Green Room of the building features bronze plates commemorating distinguished visitors including Eleanor Roosevelt, Martin Luther King Jr, and Presidents Kennedy, Johnson, Eisenhower, and Carter.
