The Somerville, in Somerville, Massachusetts, opened as a vaudeville and opera house in 1914, and now functions as a movie house and live event venue. U2 chose the Somerville as a stop for its 2009 tour, and Bruce Springsteen treated audiences to two acoustic performances at the Somerville in 2003. Maya Angelou, Joan Baez, and Cheap Trick have also added their names to the growing list of performers, and the Somerville has also been the recent host of live theatrical performances as well.
