Rice Eccles Stadium is an outdoor college football stadium located on the campus of the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. The stadium opened in 1998 and has a capacity of 45,807. It is the home field of the Utah Utes of the Pac 12 conference. It served as the main stadium for the 2002 Winter Olympics, hosting the opening and closing ceremonies. Salt Lake 2002 Cauldron Park is located immediately south of the stadium. The park contains a 2002 Olympic museum which features the Olympic cauldron and other memorabilia from the game.
