Mortenson Hall is a sate of the art theater building which makes a proud contribution to the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts in Hartford, Connecticut. The Mortenson, known for its beautiful Georgian revival exterior and lush art deco interior, is a popular stop for the most in -demand national touring Broadway Shows. The 2800 seat hall, designed by the architects of Radio City Music Hall, has hosted Tony Award winning performances including "The Book of Mormon," "Wicked," "Billy Elliot," and Jersey Boy," and performances by Eddie Vedder, Diana Ross, Jerry Seinfeld, and Tony Bennett, among a host of others, Aside from live entertainment, Mortenson Hall is also known as the home of the largest hand painted ceiling mural of its type. Patrons to the theater can view the work, "Drama" painted by Barry Faulkner in 1929 for $50,000 suspended from the roof of the Hall hung from numerous metal supports in a tribute to early 20th century modernity.
