The Thompson-Boling Arena is a multi-purpose arena located on the campus of the University if Tennessee in Knoxville. The arena opened in 1987 and is home to the University’s men’s and women’s basketball teams. The arena went through many periods of renovation and, at one point, it was the largest facility ever built specifically for basketball in the U.S. However, due to renovations, the seating capacity is now down to 21,678, so it no longer holds that title.
