The center opened in 1998 and serves as the home court for the University of South Alabama Jaguars basketball teams. Mitchell Center’s north entrance features the famous Waterman Globe. The globe rotates once every three minutes and 50 seconds and it’s axis is identical to that of the Earth’s.
