It originally opened in 1929 as Denny Stadium, named for the school’s president, George Denny. It since added the name of head coach Paul “Bear” Bryant. The stadium has a seating capacity of 101,821 making it the fourth largest stadium in the Southeast Conference, the seventh largest stadium in the U.S. and the eighth largest stadium in the world. It is the home field of the Alabama Crimson Tide football team of the Southeastern Conference.
