The club In Milwaukee, Wisconsin's name was derived from the Milwaukee venue the hair band, Spinal Tap played in the much celebrated mockumentary film. It seems that when club owner, Peter Jest, booked the band at another club, he promised the members that if he ever opened a club in Milwaukee, it would be called Shank Hall, a man of his word, In 1989, Jest made good on his promise. Now nearly twenty years later, the 300p capacity club still stands as a music venue providing entertainment to the Milwaukee area.
