The Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts is located in Louis Armstrong Park in New Orleans, LA. It opened in 1973 but had to close due to damage it incurred during hurricane Katrina. It later reopened in 2009. The Theater features a variety of performances including concerts, dance, opera, Broadway shows and awards ceremonies.
