Del Mar Thoroughbred Club racetrack is a thoroughbred horse racing track at Del Mar Fairgrounds in Del Mar, CA. It opened in 1944 and has a capacity of 44,000 making it the second largest horse racing venue in the western United States. In addition to hosting horse racing events, the racetrack also features concerts, daycare, family fun days, and giveaways. The track was built by a partnership which included many prominent actors including Bing Crosby, Gary Cooper and Oliver Hardy.
