The Alex G. Spanos Stadium opened in 1935, when the Mustang Stadium was expanded from its 8,500 capacity seating to the 11,075 seats it holds today. The multipurpose stadium, located on the campus of Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo is the home of Cal Poly Mustangs football, as well as the Cal Poly men's and women's soccer team. The stadium held a record attendance on October 17, 2008, with 11,075 fans, making it the third largest NCAA crowd in non tournament history. With plans in the works to expand the stadium to 22,000, you may want to get down there before the lines get even longer.
